Lead/Senior Budget controller

A trusted online broker with expertise in the US, European, and Asian stock markets, registered in Cyprus, and offering a broad range of services in the financial markets, is looking for a Lead/Senior Budget analyst to join its expanding team.

• Monitor and manage company expenses to ensure they align with approved budgets and financial goals
• Review and approve departmental budget requests, verifying compliance with company financial policies
• Prepare, consolidate, and analyze budget forecasts as well as periodic financial reports
• Track budget execution, identify deviations, perform detailed variance analysis, and propose corrective actions
• Oversee and guide the budget controlling activities within the team/department
• Work closely with business units to improve forecast accuracy and optimize resource allocation
• Ensure timely incorporation of monthly, quarterly, and annual budget updates
• Provide departments with cost analysis, profitability insights, and support for business decisions
• Develop and maintain budget tracking tools, dashboards, and reports (primarily in Excel and other platforms)
• Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy of budget-related figures
• Contribute to the development and refinement of budgetary control procedures and process enhancements
• Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and reports as requested by management
• Maintain open communication with internal stakeholders to promote transparency and consistency in budgeting
• Support initiatives to automate budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and corporate financial policies
• Actively participate in continuous improvement projects related to budgeting and financial processes

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
• Minimum 3+ years of proven experience in budgeting, controlling, or financial planning within a global/international company
• Hands-on experience with SAP Concur or other SAP financial modules is mandatory
• Knowledge of Python and/or SQL, as well as experience in process automation, will be considered a strong asset
• Fluency in English is required; additional languages are an advantage
